December 12th: Winter Mixer!

You’re Invited to the 2023 Winter Mixer!

The 2023 Winter Mixer unites diverse stakeholders in the food supply chain—workers, producers, distributors, buyers, policymakers, financiers, and community members. It aims to propel the Metro Chicago Good Food Purchasing Initiative, fostering a collective understanding of our roles in the regional food system. Attendees will gain insights into funding, certification, institutional procurement pathways, and opportunities to network. We invite organizations, industry leaders, and engaged business owners to collaborate on transformative solutions for a more equitable and just food system. We aim to keep this conversation going and continue to collectivize at the 2024 Food Justice Summit.

Event Details

Time: Tuesday, December 12th, 1:00-7:00 pm

Location: Malcolm X College (1900 W Jackson Blvd. Chicago, IL 60612) 

Parking: There is free parking available in the parking garage. Additional street parking is available near the venue.

Public Transit: Conveniently located just off the I-290 Damen exit, you can easily access the venue using the following transit options:

    • CTA Blue Line, Illinois Medical District stop

    • CTA Bus #157

    • CTA Bus # 126

    • CTA Bus #50

Bicycle Racks are available inside of the parking garage (first floor) and near the Jackson Blvd entrance.

Food/Drink: Light refreshments and small bites will be available. We strongly encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle to the event. All supplies offered on site will be compostable (including cutlery, plates, cups, and napkins) and will be composted by WasteNot composting services. Please help us reduce waste and landfill contribution by following signage and appropriately composting!
