Currently urban farmers and other new models of food businesses fall into gaps in the City of Chicago’s regulatory structures. This working groups is focused on “mapping” the current process for urban agriculture related business and making recommendations for improving the licensing and permitting situation in Chicago.
CFPAC is currently working with Advocates for Urban Agriculture to finalize a proposal to the City for a revised and updated Produce Merchant License that would cover commercial urban farms.
